About Us
Who We Are
The Developed Country NGO Delegation (DevDel) is one of twenty delegations to the Board of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. We play a critical role in the development and evolution of organizational strategy, the funding model, the work of the Secretariat and policy.
Delegation members are representatives of civil society organizations based in countries ineligible for Global Fund allocations due to income status.
Our Mission
WE ENSURE THAT THE GLOBAL FUND REMAINS TRANSPARENT, AMBITIOUS, AND IMPACTFUL AS IT WORKS TOWARD ITS VISION OF A WORLD FREE OF HIV AND AIDS, TUBERCULOSIS, AND MALARIA.
GLOBAL FUND PARTNERSHIP
DEVDEL SUPPORTS THE GLOBAL FUND IN FOUR WAYS
Global Fund Board
The Board of the Global Fund embodies the partnership approach to global health. To help end the epidemics of HIV, TB and malaria, the Board incorporates leading stakeholders in an inclusive and effective way. The Global Fund’s guiding philosophy, and the day-to-day work of the Board, embraces shared responsibility and a strong commitment by all involved.
The core functions of the Board include:
- Strategy development
- Governance oversight
- Commitment of financial resources
- Assessment of organizational performance
- Risk management
- Partnership engagement, resource mobilization and advocacy
COMMITTEES
DevDel achieves its vision through the work of three committees
The role of the Ethics and Governance Committee is to ensure that the Global Fund and its stakeholders adhere to standards of ethical behavior. A key role of the Committee is to oversee the implementation of the Global Fund’s governance procedures and operations. Members of this Committee are nominated by Global Fund constituencies but serve in their personal capacity.
The Strategy Committee’s role entails establishing the Global Fund’s strategic direction and ensuring that the Global Fund’s investments in health are effective and impactful. This Committee exercises decision-making powers, advisory functions, and an oversight role.
The Audit and Finance Committee’s role is to ensure that the Global Fund’s corporate and financial operations are as efficient as possible. The Committee oversees: the financial management of the Global Fund’s resources; its internal and external audit functions; and its investigative functions.
